A Distant Light.*

Why do I feel so alone?

...as if,

this place I call home, where my friends, love, and joy lie,

are far from being my own;

they belong to the next guy.

Trying to find the light,

with the love and joy shining oh-so bright!

They prance through the night, jump off the moon - and dance

with the Sun;

their bond keeps hate at bay,

such wonder, do they have each

day.

But I'm lost in this maze, my heart's covered with frost

in this phase -

Cold and lonely; I love me only.

Love's so distant,

Joy's gone with it.

Maybe I should embrace this

foreign curse,

and just,

wait for bliss.

*Understand my title ? - Notice, that I call Love & Joy a "light" in the second stanza. Their distance is leading to my loneliness. So their distance is the focus of the poem, not loneliness.
